Portraits made during journeys through Mali, Mauritania, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Western Sahara, Morocco, Georgia and Switzerland. Produced across multiple trips, the collection includes travelling companions and people met along the way, sometimes for only a few minutes and sometimes over several days or weeks. The photographs are made openly and with the participation of each person, often using gestures and mutual understanding when no common language is shared. Whenever possible, a printed copy of the portrait is given to the person photographed. The ongoing collection is shaped by chance encounters, a passion for portraiture and the pleasure of travelling rather than by a single planned project.
